Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A capriccio of architectural ruins with figures by Viviano Codazzi was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2001. The price achieved of GBP 21,150.00 (€ 34,096.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Viviano Codazzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari, which sold at auction in December 2002 for EUR 99,200.00.
