This artwork by Viviano Codazzi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April last year. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work An architectural capriccio with figures by a colonnaded portico, a castle on a sea arch and coastal village beyond sold for GBP 11,970.00 (€ 14,273.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Viviano Codazzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari in December 2002 with an auction result of EUR 99,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Viviano Codazzi erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit An architectural capriccio with figures by a colonnaded portico, a castle on a sea arch and coastal village beyond für GBP 11.970,00 (€ 14.273,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Viviano Codazzi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 99.200,00.
