This artwork by Viviano Codazzi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2006. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work A Capriccio of Classical Ruins With Figures In The Foreground sold for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 18,444.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Viviano Codazzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari in December 2002 with an auction result of EUR 99,200.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Viviano Codazzi erzielte im Juli 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Pictures wurde die Arbeit A Capriccio of Classical Ruins With Figures In The Foreground für GBP 12.600,00 (€ 18.444,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Viviano Codazzi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 99.200,00.
