A top price for Virgil Abloh - as previously expected
The work Reaper II by Virgil Abloh was sold in the Prints & Multiples Summer Splash auction at Bonhams in New York in August last year. The price achieved of USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,393.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Reaper II is the most expensive artwork by Virgil Abloh that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Reaper II von Virgil Abloh wurde im August letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples Summer Splash bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.393,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Reaper II das teuerste Kunstwerk von Virgil Abloh, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
