Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Roman senators and women discovering two corpses, soldiers arresting the murderers to the right by Vincenzo Camuccini was sold in the Old Master Pictures and Drawings auction at Christies in London in December 2003. It achieved a price of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,331.39), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vincenzo Camuccini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Princess Alexandra von Dietrichstein (née Shuvalova) (1775-1847) in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 118,610.86).
