Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Vincenzo Camuccini could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Kagan Collection auction, the work Virgil Reading The Aeneid To The Family Of Augustus changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,871.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vincenzo Camuccini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Princess Alexandra von Dietrichstein (née Shuvalova) (1775-1847) in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 118,610.86).
