This artwork by Vincent van Gogh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February this year. In the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction, the work Kop van een vrouw (Gordina de Groot) (Head of a Woman Gordina de Groot) sold for GBP 4,842,000.00 (€ 5,522,949.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vincent van Gogh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Verger avec cyprès in November last year with an auction result of USD 117,180,000.00 (€ 113,513,513.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vincent van Gogh erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Kop van een vrouw (Gordina de Groot) (Head of a Woman Gordina de Groot) für GBP 4.842.000,00 (€ 5.522.949,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vincent van Gogh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Verger avec cyprès im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 117.180.000,00 (€ 113.513.513,51).
