The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,392.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Vincent Clare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Primroses, apple blossom, and a wicker basket, on a mossy bank; and Plums and grapes on a mossy bank in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,312.60).
