Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work May blossom, violets, primroses, daffodils in a wicker basket, and eggs in a bird's nest, on a mossy bank by Vincent Clare. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,172.50 (€ 4,554.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vincent Clare - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Primroses, apple blossom, and a wicker basket, on a mossy bank; and Plums and grapes on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,312.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit May blossom, violets, primroses, daffodils in a wicker basket, and eggs in a bird's nest, on a mossy bank von Vincent Clare zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.172,50 (€ 4.554,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Vincent Clare mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Primroses, apple blossom, and a wicker basket, on a mossy bank; and Plums and grapes on a mossy bank beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.312,60) versteigert wurde.
