Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Apple Blossom, Pansies And A Bird'S Nest With Eggs On A Mossy Bank by Vincent Clare for GBP 358.50 (€ 522.29). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Paintings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vincent Clare achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Primroses, apple blossom, and a wicker basket, on a mossy bank; and Plums and grapes on a mossy bank in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,312.60).
