Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART, which included the work Gate by Viktor IV. It changed hands for a price of NLG 4,465.00 (€ 2,146.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of NLG 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Viktor IV - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work American Totem, which sold at auction in December 2008 for EUR 8,125.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gate von Viktor IV zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von NLG 4.465,00 (€ 2.146,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von NLG 3.500,00 – 4.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Viktor IV mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit American Totem beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für EUR 8.125,00 versteigert wurde.
