Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Figures (Man And Woman) by Victor Manuel was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,340.00 (€ 9,736.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Manuel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carnaval (Escena de comparsa) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 319,500.00 (€ 302,041.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two Figures (Man And Woman) von Victor Manuel im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.340,00 (€ 9.736,41) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Manuel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carnaval (Escena de comparsa) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 319.500,00 (€ 302.041,97).
