Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Office at night by Victor Burgin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,500.00 – 5,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,587.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Burgin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zoo 78 in February 2012 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 73,134.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Office at night von Victor Burgin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.587,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Burgin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zoo 78 im Februar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 73.134,12).
