Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Venice (Portfolio I) by Vera Lutter was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 16,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Vera Lutter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brooklyn Bridge in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,785.49).
