The work View of the Acropolis by Vasily Polenov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,133.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasily Polenov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,542,300.00 (€ 1,754,664.16).

Die Arbeit View of the Acropolis von Vasily Polenov kam im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 52.920,00 (€ 62.133,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vasily Polenov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.542.300,00 (€ 1.754.664,16).
