In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work Barge by Vasily Polenov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 162,500.00 (€ 190,814.73), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Vasily Polenov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,542,300.00 (€ 1,754,664.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Barge von Vasily Polenov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 190.814,73) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vasily Polenov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.542.300,00 (€ 1.754.664,16).
