The work The River Oka In Autumn by Vasily Polenov was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The auction ended at the price of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 169,195.44), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasily Polenov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,542,300.00 (€ 1,754,664.16).
