In November 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Paintings, which included the work The River Oka In Golden Autumn by Vasily Polenov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 99,650.00 (€ 122,758.69), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasily Polenov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,542,300.00 (€ 1,754,664.16).

Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The River Oka In Golden Autumn von Vasily Polenov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 99.650,00 (€ 122.758,69) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vasily Polenov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'There were also women looking from afar off', 1908 105 x 167cm (41 1/2 x 66in). im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.542.300,00 (€ 1.754.664,16).
