In the Important Silver, Russian Works of Art and Paintings auction, the work Study of the head of God's Fool for the painting 'Boiarinva Morozova' sold for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 48,032.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vasili Ivanovich Surikov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study Of A Strelets' Wife For The Painting 'The Morning Of The Streltsi'S Execution', which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 106,050.00 (€ 152,552.35).
