In the RUSSIAN PICTURES auction, the work Sailboat sold for GBP 14,340.00 (€ 20,628.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Vasili Ivanovich Surikov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study Of A Strelets' Wife For The Painting 'The Morning Of The Streltsi'S Execution' in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 106,050.00 (€ 152,552.35).
