The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,767.50 (€ 11,173.51), 29% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasili Ivanovich Surikov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study Of A Strelets' Wife For The Painting 'The Morning Of The Streltsi'S Execution' in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 106,050.00 (€ 152,552.35).
