Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Collection by Valerie Thornton was sold in the Old Master, Decorative, Modern & Contemporary Prints auction at Christies in London in April 2011. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 675.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valerie Thornton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The church entrance, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,284.04).
