Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Emmanuel Nobel by Valentin Serov was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 66,801.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Valentin Serov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Praskovia Anatolievna Mamontova in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,217,250.00 (€ 1,499,528.50).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Emmanuel Nobel von Valentin Serov wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Russian Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 66.801,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Valentin Serov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Praskovia Anatolievna Mamontova im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.217.250,00 (€ 1.499.528,50).
