In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Will Knowledge Safeguard Freedom 2 by Uzo Egonu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,746.86), 46% above the upper estimate. Other works by Uzo Egonu have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,893.89) in April 2019 for the work Nigerian Woman Reading.
