Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Nigerian Portrait Of Mother And Child by Uzo Egonu. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,814.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Uzo Egonu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nigerian Woman Reading, which sold at auction in April 2019 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,893.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nigerian Portrait Of Mother And Child von Uzo Egonu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.814,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Uzo Egonu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nigerian Woman Reading beobachtet, die im April 2019 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 50.893,89) versteigert wurde.
