Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nigerian four Women Bathers by Uzo Egonu was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,162.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Uzo Egonu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nigerian Woman Reading in April 2019 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,893.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nigerian four Women Bathers von Uzo Egonu kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.162,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Uzo Egonu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nigerian Woman Reading im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 50.893,89).
