Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Utagawa Kunisada was sold in the Japan-Mania (Online-only) auction at Bonhams in November this year. The price achieved of GBP 704.00 (€ 815.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kunisada achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 in March last year with an auction result of USD 47,812.50 (€ 43,101.51).
