A top price for Utagawa Kunisada
In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 by Utagawa Kunisada. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,812.50 (€ 43,101.51), 59% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 the most expensive artwork by Utagawa Kunisada that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 von Utagawa Kunisada zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.812,50 (€ 43.101,51) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kunisada, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
