UTAGAWA KUNISADA (UTAGAWA TOYOKUNI III, 1786-1865)
Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1863
Two oban tate-e yakusha-e prints from the same unidentified series: the first the actor Sawamura Tanosuke III in the role of Tokiwa Gozen, signed Toyokuni rohitsu; the second Nakamura Shikan IV in the role of Iwanaga Saemon, signed Nanajuhachisai Toyokuni hitsu; both published by Kagiya Shobei. Each sheet approx., 36.5cm x 26.9cm (14 5/16in x 10 9/16in). (2).
