Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beauties and a child playing musical instruments by Utagawa Kunisada was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in Los Angeles in September this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,333.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Kunisada have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 in March last year with an auction result of USD 47,812.50 (€ 43,101.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Beauties and a child playing musical instruments von Utagawa Kunisada wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 8.333,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Kunisada auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.812,50 (€ 43.101,51).
