Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Utagawa Kunisada achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May this year. In the From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries auction, the work the actor Ichikawa Danjuro VII as Soga-no-Goro sold for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 6,701.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Utagawa Kunisada have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 in March last year with an auction result of USD 47,812.50 (€ 43,101.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kunisada erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries wurde die Arbeit the actor Ichikawa Danjuro VII as Soga-no-Goro für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 6.701,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Kunisada auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Edo period (1615-1868), 1857 im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.812,50 (€ 43.101,51).
