In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction, which included the work Savannah Sunset by Uche Okeke. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,963.23), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Uche Okeke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madonna & Child, The Manger (Framed) in March this year with an auction result of GBP 151,500.00 (€ 172,360.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Savannah Sunset von Uche Okeke zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.963,23) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Uche Okeke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madonna & Child, The Manger (Framed) im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 151.500,00 (€ 172.360,51).
