It achieved a price of GBP 11,475.00 (€ 13,604.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Uche Okeke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madonna & Child, The Manger (Framed) in March this year with an auction result of GBP 151,500.00 (€ 172,360.51).

Die Arbeit Two watercolour studies (i-ii): von Uche Okeke wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 11.475,00 (€ 13.604,90) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Uche Okeke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madonna & Child, The Manger (Framed) im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 151.500,00 (€ 172.360,51).
