Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Trojan Woman) by Tyeb Mehta. It changed hands for a price of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,779.00) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tyeb Mehta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Trojan Woman) von Tyeb Mehta zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.779,00) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tyeb Mehta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Durga Mahisasura Mardini im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 204.875.000,00 (€ 2.587.399,54).
