Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Seated Lady) by Tyeb Mehta was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,184.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tyeb Mehta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
