Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2019 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Falling Figure with Bird by Tyeb Mehta. The price achieved of GBP 1,691,250.00 (€ 1,901,215.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Other works by Tyeb Mehta have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2018 the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini was auctioned for INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Falling Figure with Bird von Tyeb Mehta zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.691.250,00 (€ 1.901.215,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Tyeb Mehta konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2018 die Arbeit Durga Mahisasura Mardini für INR 204.875.000,00 (€ 2.587.399,54) versteigert.
