This artwork by Tseng Kwong Chi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. In the Dear Keith: Works from the Personal Collection of Keith Haring auction, the work Monument Valley, Arizona, 1987 sold for USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,981.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tseng Kwong Chi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York, 1987 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 110,746.88).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Tseng Kwong Chi erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dear Keith: Works from the Personal Collection of Keith Haring wurde die Arbeit Monument Valley, Arizona, 1987 für USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.981,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tseng Kwong Chi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York, 1987 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 110.746,88).
