Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Keith Haring, New York Subway, 1983 by Tseng Kwong Chi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,088.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tseng Kwong Chi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York, 1987 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 110,746.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Keith Haring, New York Subway, 1983 von Tseng Kwong Chi kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.088,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tseng Kwong Chi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York, 1987 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 110.746,88).
