Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tschabalala Self achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Partners sold for HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 148,393.02) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 650,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tschabalala Self - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Princess, which sold at auction in February 2020 for GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tschabalala Self erzielte im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Partners für HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 148.393,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 650.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tschabalala Self mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Princess beobachtet, die im Februar 2020 für GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99) versteigert wurde.
