Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online, which included the work Střelnice: Two Prints by Toyen. The price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,121.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris in October this year with an auction result of EUR 2,823,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Střelnice: Two Prints von Toyen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.121,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toyen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 2.823.000,00.
