In the The Sleep of Reason Part II | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online auction, the work Hommage À Benjamin Peret sold for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,722.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris in October this year with an auction result of EUR 2,823,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Toyen erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sleep of Reason Part II | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online wurde die Arbeit Hommage À Benjamin Peret für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.722,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toyen erzielen.
