Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th C. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Chunk by Tony Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,553.68), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tony Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work no, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 79,588.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th C. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chunk von Tony Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.553,68) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tony Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit no beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 79.588,87) versteigert wurde.
