Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script by Tong Danian. The price achieved of HKD 17,700.00 (€ 2,156.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tong Danian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Jinwen, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,507.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script von Tong Danian zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 17.700,00 (€ 2.156,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tong Danian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Jinwen beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 4.507,50) versteigert wurde.
