A top price for Tong Danian - as previously expected
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Jinwen by Tong Danian was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013. The price achieved of HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,507.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Calligraphy Couplet In Jinwen is the most expensive artwork by Tong Danian that we have observed at auctions so far.
