This artwork by Tong Danian achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in November 2016. In the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas auction, the work Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script sold for HKD 14,160.00 (€ 1,725.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tong Danian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Jinwen, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,507.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tong Danian erzielte im November 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas wurde die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Seal Script für HKD 14.160,00 (€ 1.725,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tong Danian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Jinwen beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 4.507,50) versteigert wurde.
