Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Decoration/Face, 2007 by Tomoko Sawada. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,523.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tomoko Sawada achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work School Days in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,468.29).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Decoration/Face, 2007 von Tomoko Sawada zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.523,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tomoko Sawada erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit School Days im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.468,29).
