Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figure by Tomioka Tessai was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2017. The price achieved of HKD 35,400.00 (€ 3,896.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tomioka Tessai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meito zuroku (Catalogue of important ceramics), which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 12,925.00 (€ 15,286.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Figure von Tomioka Tessai kam im Oktober 2017 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 35.400,00 (€ 3.896,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tomioka Tessai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Meito zuroku (Catalogue of important ceramics) beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 12.925,00 (€ 15.286,81) versteigert wurde.
