Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape by Tomioka Tessai. The price achieved of HKD 35,400.00 (€ 3,896.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tomioka Tessai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meito zuroku (Catalogue of important ceramics), which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 12,925.00 (€ 15,286.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Tomioka Tessai zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 35.400,00 (€ 3.896,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tomioka Tessai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Meito zuroku (Catalogue of important ceramics) beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 12.925,00 (€ 15.286,81) versteigert wurde.
