Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Engagement by Tom Lovell was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Lovell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catchers of Wild Horses in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 268,309.44).

Die Arbeit Engagement von Tom Lovell wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Lovell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Catchers of Wild Horses im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 268.309,44).
