In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Attorney At Sea by Tom Lovell. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,233.77) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Lovell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catchers of Wild Horses in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 268,309.44).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Attorney At Sea von Tom Lovell zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.233,77) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Lovell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Catchers of Wild Horses im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 268.309,44).
